Overview

In this role you will lead multifaceted bridge engineering projects from concept to completion, delivering advanced designs and thorough documentation. You will manage scope, budget, schedule, and client relationships while assessing risks and financial metrics. You'll coordinate cross-functional teams, drive business development, and pursue opportunities for innovative, safe, cost-effective bridge solutions. As part of the Southeast Bridge Team, you'll mentor peers and shape strategy to advance CHA's transportation initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical excellence with client-focused delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all phases of bridge engineering projects from concept through completion
  • Manage scope, budget, schedule, and client relationships; assess project risks and financials
  • Plan and coordinate detailed project phases with engineering and PM teams
  • Act as seller/doer; develop client work and marketing plans for target markets
  • Collaborate with Southeast Bridge Project Managers to set vision and support team growth
  • Identify and pursue bridge opportunities; prepare technical proposals and presentations
  • Ensure quality control and compliance with company standards across multiple projects
  • Interpret client contracts and maintain strong client relationships
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years progressive engineering experience; minimum 8 years PM experience
  • Prior bridge design experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • GDOT, FDOT, SCDOT experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of bridge and roadway engineering; QA/QC procedures; engineering laws
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaborative work style
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to tailor messaging to audiences
  • Experience preparing proposals and project documentation; interpreting client contracts
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred
