Overview In this role you drive the cost estimating function for large-scale infrastructure projects, shaping the upfront economics and project viability. You will lead technical research on estimating tools, build complex cost models, and ensure estimates align with financial and regulatory guidelines. You'll collaborate with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams to support value engineering, bids, and procurement, while mentoring junior staff. This is a chance to influence enterprise estimating standards and deliver accurate, data-driven cost insights at scale. Responsibilities- Oversee independent cost estimates for change orders
- Support value engineering studies and design charettes with cost input
- Create complex cost models for estimating elements
- Prepare claims analyses and cost estimates
- Perform parametric order-of-magnitude estimating
- Analyze drawings, BOMs, and data to estimate labor, material, and equipment costs
- Develop duration estimates for construction activities
- Quality control for quantity takeoffs and estimates on complex projects
- Consult with clients, vendors, and internal teams to resolve estimation issues
- Lead price negotiations and bid estimates
- Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
- Create and maintain enterprise estimating policies and standards
- Guide estimating software usage and data protocols
- Maintain historical cost data and estimation databases
- Support procurement documents related to estimating specifications
- Coordinate with risk management to align risk registers with projects
- Mentor Estimators I-III and provide technical leadership
- Engage in project leadership or advisory roles as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor in Engineering
- 9 years of relevant cost estimating experience
- or 13 years in lieu of education with cost estimation development
