Overview In this role you lead construction inspection for diverse transportation and building projects, shaping on-site quality and compliance. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage client relations, and drive project success from pre-bid to close-out. You'll work with INDOT and local agencies to ensure contract adherence and deliver value through skilled oversight and leadership. Responsibilities- Identify prospective clients and opportunities within INDOT and LPA experience to support business development
- Contribute to responses for Requests for Proposals across potential clients
- Form and manage teams of engineers and technicians for inspection, administration, and documentation from pre-bid to close-out
- Foster collaboration with other consulting firms to pursue projects
- Identify and secure INDOT pre-qualifications for construction oversight
- Administer and coordinate highway and bridge rehabilitation/reconstruction projects
- Ensure contractor work complies with contract documents
- Schedule and lead project meetings and distribute minutes
- Supervise preparation of pay estimates, contract modifications, and related docs
- Review deliverables for quality and compliance
- Provide technical leadership for complex assignments and training to staff
- Interpret contract documents to address issues and apply knowledge effectively
- Monitor staff activities for contractual alignment
- Communicate clearly with staff, agencies, and public
- Report status and issues to clients with practical solutions
- Review and draft responses to contractor correspondence and claims
- Track budgets and communicate concerns to initiate corrective actions
- Manage internal contract budgets for project services
Key requirements- Bachelor in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- A PE License in Indiana is preferred
- At least 10 years INDOT or heavy highway/bridge construction experience
- Experience as Project Engineer or Assistant Project Engineer
- Expertise in transportation engineering from design to construction and project management skills
- Strong conflict resolution, leadership, and teamwork abilities
- Effective communication with staff, agencies, and the public
- Experience with INDOT or municipal projects preferred
- Valid driver's license with clean MVR; personal vehicle for job site
