Assistant Construction Project Manager (Wind / Renewables - Nationwide Opportunities!)

Overview

As an Assistant Project Manager for MasTec Renewables, you will help deliver utility-scale wind projects across the U.S. You will work onsite with field teams, subcontractors, and leadership to keep projects safe, on schedule, and within budget. You'll manage day-to-day operations, monitor progress, and solve issues in real time while learning the full project lifecycle. This role supports the growth of future project leaders in a fast-paced, sustainability-focused organization with a strong safety culture. You'll engage across disciplines to influence project outcomes and contribute to a broad portfolio of renewable energy initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate engineering studies
  • Handle change order requests
  • Liaise with engineers on technical questions
  • Coordinate with estimating on projects
  • Process submittals and RFIs
  • Engage owners/clients on planning specifications
  • Oversee planning-stage activities
  • Coordinate with regional managers on project status
  • Create subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Track job costs and forecast monthly revenue
  • Manage QA/QC on projects
  • Identify and resolve contract disputes with Owners
  • Maintain prime contract with Owner/Client
  • Establish monthly billing procedures
  • Maintain and report job cost controls
  • Review general conditions costs monthly
  • Review and approve subcontractor payment applications
  • Approve material and subcontract invoices
  • Issue change orders to subcontractors
  • Initiate monthly progress payments to Owner
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum five years of Solar or EPC construction industry experience
  • Health and safety awareness
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation
  • Technical report writing and documentation
