Heavy Equipment Technician
Brighton, MI $30-$42+/hr Full-Time
We're looking for Heavy Equipment Technicians for both shop or field service. All experience levels are welcome. Maybe you've been wrenching on heavy equipment for years. Maybe your background is diesel, automotive, ag or industrial equipment and you're ready to make the jump. Either way, if you know how to troubleshoot and want to keep learning, let's talk.
The Job
You'll be working on construction equipment and handling everything from basic PMs to major diagnostics and repairs.
- Diesel engine and mechanical repairs
- Hydraulic diagnostics and component repair
- Electrical troubleshooting
- Powertrain and drivetrain work
- PMs, inspections and preventative maintenance
- Diagnose problems and determine the repair - not just swap parts
- Remove/install components and attachments
- Install aftermarket kits and accessories
- Welding and fabrication as needed
- Function-test equipment after repairs
- Complete service paperwork and repair documentation
Shop techs stay busy with repairs, maintenance, diagnostics and component work.
Field techs use a service truck to get customers' equipment back up and running. When field work slows down, you can come back to the shop and stay busy there.
The service truck does not require a CDL. If you have your CDL, there are CDL trucks available.
Who We're Looking For
You don't have to have the perfect résumé. You need to know how to use your tools, troubleshoot a machine and give a damn about the work you put your name on.
- Heavy equipment, diesel, automotive, ag, industrial or related experience
- Good mechanical fundamentals
- Hydraulic/electrical experience is a strong plus
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting experience is a plus
- Willing to train and learn new equipment
- Own professional tools
- Valid driver's license
- Dependable and able to work independently
Pay & Hours
- $30-$42+/hr, based on experience and skill
- Flexible for the right tech
- Monday-Friday
- 7:30 AM-5:00 PM
- Average 45-50 hours/week
- Saturdays are rare
