Daily Responsibilities: Prepare objects for welding by preheating, cleaning, positioning, and clamping parts Design, repair, and fabricate machine components as required Maintain and repair pumps, motors, shafts, rudders, and utility equipment systems Perform electric arc, MIG, TIG, and acetylene welding on various equipment and structures Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and job specifications Maintain, clean, and repair welding and machinist equipment Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and workpieces Operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and band saws to shape parts Inspect, measure, and test completed parts for defects and conformance to specifications Perform record keeping and inspection related to equipment maintenance Travel as required to perform duties in various locations (10-30% travel) Required Skills: Technical school graduate or equivalent apprenticeship Valid motor vehicle operator's license Proficient in MIG, TIG, and electric arc welding Experience operating lathe, milling machine, drill press, and related machinist hand tools Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job specifications Sufficient physical strength and dexterity to perform heavy lifting and manual tasks Company Information: Mike's Inc. is a family-owned business providing industrial and marine services, including tractor trailer and equipment repair, diesel engine repair, generator sales and service, and expert machining and fabrication.
