Assistant Director of Equal Opportunity and Title IX, ADA/504 CoordinatorCambridge, MAFull timeJR101806The OpportunityLesley University is seeking an Assistant Director of Equal Opportunity and Title IX, ADA/504 Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Compliance and Contract Management, the Assistant Director will coordinate the University's efforts to comply with its responsibilities under:Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and any related regulations, including those promulgated thereunder in May 2020Relevant provisions of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964Title VI of the Education Amendments of 1972Relevant provisions of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics ActAmericans with Disabilities Act of 1990Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973The Assistant Director will oversee investigations and resolution processes related to discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, and other policy violations, while ensuring compliance with Title IX, ADA/Section 504, and related requirements. The role will provide guidance and support to the University community, strengthen policies and response processes, and develop and deliver related training and education. The Assistant Director will collaborate with campus partners to promote equity, inclusion, accountability, and a safe and respectful learning and working environment.Qualities & CapabilitiesA successful candidate will have:Bachelor's degree (required); Master's, JD, or other advanced degree in a field relevant to equal opportunity compliance (preferred)Minimum of five years of related or transferable experience, including demonstrated investigatory experienceWorking knowledge of student, employee, civil rights, and legal issues facing universitiesAbility to foster an integrated team approach; Demonstrated capacity to conceptualize, build, and continuously improve effective programs and processes; Demonstrated capacity to implement programs and processesExceptional communication (verbal and written), organizational, mediation, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and students having a range of backgrounds, interests, and perspectivesDemonstrated ability to respond quickly and appropriately to crisis situationsAbility to implement and monitor administrative systems to ensure compliance with applicable laws, policies and guidelinesWhy LesleyLocated in the heart of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Lesley University is highly regarded for its graduate and undergraduate programs in the human arts of education, the arts, and applied social sciences.
