You will oversee programs that ensure employees operate safely, professionally, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements while helping drive operational excellence throughout the organization.This highly visible leadership position partners with Transportation Operations, Human Resources, and Executive Leadership to strengthen safety performance, employee development, risk management, and continuous improvement.What You'll DoLead Safety, Training & Quality ExcellenceLead and develop Vivalon's safety, training, and quality assurance programs across transportation operations.Supervise and support Road Supervisors and training staff while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.Design and oversee new hire, compliance, and ongoing training programs to ensure employees have the skills and certifications needed for success.Drive safety initiatives by leading accident investigations, conducting operational reviews, and implementing proactive risk-reduction strategies.Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, contractual, and organizational requirements, maintaining audit-ready records and documentation.Monitor performance metrics, identify trends, and implement data-driven improvements that enhance safety, service quality, and operational excellence.Partner with department leaders and executive leadership to advance organization-wide safety goals and continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements:
What We're Looking ForWe're looking for a collaborative leader who combines strong regulatory knowledge with a passion for developing people and building a culture of safety.Minimum of 3-5 years of safety and training experience, preferably within transportation, transit, paratransit, or related industriesStrong knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and transportation safety regulationsExperience leading investigations, training programs, audits, and compliance initiativesExcellent communication, presentation, and organizational skillsAbility to influence and build partnerships across all levels of an organizationProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Familiarity with DOT drug and alcohol testing programs and Reasonable Suspicion trainingAssociate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferredAbility to obtain and maintain a California Commercial Driver License (Class B or higher) with Passenger EndorsementClean driving record and insurabilityExperience in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment is a plusBenefits & PerksAt Vivalon, we invest in the health, well-being, and success of our employees.
