OB/GYN Physician Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience practicing in obstetrics and gynecology
- Board certification is required
- Current physician licensure and eligibility to practice in Kentucky
- Current ABLS, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
- Proficiency in low-risk pregnancy management and fetal heart rate interpretation, including NST, CST, and FSE
- Ability to perform and interpret Level I and Level II obstetric ultrasounds
- Competence with routine vaginal delivery, low-forceps delivery, and decision-making for cesarean section
- Experience managing complicated deliveries, including cesarean delivery, breech presentation, multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs
- Ability to repair third- and fourth-degree lacerations
- Experience with office and minor gynecologic procedures, including IUD placement, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, and LEEP
- Experience with open and laparoscopic gynecologic surgery, including diagnostic and minor procedures
- Operative gynecologic experience with cases such as ectopic pregnancy, oophorectomy, cystectomy, and extensive lysis of adhesions
Locum Tenens OB/GYN Physician Responsibilities
- Provide obstetric and gynecologic care during scheduled call coverage periods
- Evaluate and manage patients presenting with routine and complicated pregnancy-related conditions
- Perform vaginal deliveries, low-forceps deliveries, and cesarean sections as clinically indicated
- Manage breech presentations, multiple births, abruptions, VBACs, and other high-risk delivery situations
- Interpret fetal monitoring studies and obstetric ultrasound findings
- Perform and interpret indicated gynecologic procedures and diagnostic evaluations
- Complete repairs of third- and fourth-degree obstetric lacerations
- Perform minor, laparoscopic, and open gynecologic surgical procedures within scope of practice
- Collaborate with nursing and support teams to deliver timely, high-quality patient care
