Position: Direct Support Professional (DSP) Residential Group Home
Employment Type: Part-Time 24 Hours/Week Non-Exempt
Starting Pay: $17.00/hour
Location: Woodbridge, VA 22191
Schedule: Part-time 24 hours/week Friday-Saturday: 2:00 p.m.10:00 p.m. and Sunday: 8:00 a.m.4:00 p.m.Make a Difference Every Day

The Arc of Greater Prince William / INSIGHT, Inc. is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Residential Services team at a group home in Woodbridge, Virginia.

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the DSP provides direct care and support to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in a residential group home. DSPs assist individuals with activities of daily living while promoting independence, dignity, personal choice, and community inclusion. Services are provided in accordance with Individual Support Plans (ISPs), DBHDS requirements, and organizational policies.

What You'll Do
  • Provide person-centered direct care and support based on each individual's ISP and identified goals.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, meal preparation, and household responsibilities.
  • Promote independence, personal choice, community involvement, and meaningful participation.
  • Provide safe and reliable transportation to day programs, medical appointments, and community activities.
  • Plan and participate in recreational, leisure, community, and skill-building activities.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals at all times.
  • Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and Medication Administration Training (MAT) requirements when certified.
  • Follow behavior support plans and approved crisis-intervention procedures.
  • Accurately complete required documentation, data collection, and progress notes in THERAP.
  • Maintain individuals' privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and Human Rights.
  • Immediately report incidents, injuries, unusual occurrences, and suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality and participate in required meetings and training.
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable THREE YEAR driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate an organizational vehicle, including a medium-sized bus and/or van.
  • Ability to successfully complete required criminal background checks and health screenings.
  • Ability to complete and maintain required training and certifications, including CPR, First Aid, AED, and Medication Administration Training (MAT), if applicable.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic documentation systems, including THERAP.
  • Ability to assist individuals with personal care, hygiene, and medical needs with dignity and respect.
  • Compassion, patience, sound judgment, professionalism, and a commitment to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, perform CPR/First Aid/AED, stand and walk for extended periods, bend, stoop, push, pull and reach, climb stairs, safely navigate residential and community environments, and operate an organizational vehicle.

  • Ability to pass criminal background check
  • Ability to pass required trainings
  • A Valid drivers license, minimum three-year acceptable driving record and reliable transportation;
  • A High school diploma or GED;
  • Flexibility, positive attitude

Compensation details: 17-17 Yearly Salary
