Required Credentials- Nurse Practitioner: Acute Care Adult Certification - REQUIRED
- Physician Assistant: Board Certified or meets Texas standard to practice - REQUIRED
- Texas License - REQUIRED
- Board Eligible: Yes
- ATLS - REQUIRED
Experience- Inpatient consultation coverage for general surgery and level III trauma adult patient populations
- NP or PA (PA preferred, but NP acceptable)
- No FA duties required
Patient Volume & Responsibilities- Variable volume: consultations, follow-ups, pre/post-operative consults, rounding with physicians
- APP performs discharges
- Basic bedside procedures only (dressing changes, drain management)
- No OR procedures required
Schedule & Coverage- Weekend day coverage only: Saturday and Sunday
- All weekends per month
- Possible ongoing coverage past June
Practice Environment- Inpatient, Acute Care - Surgical Specialties
- EMR: eClinicalWorks (EcW)
- Support Staff: Nursing
- Supervising Physicians: Several physicians, trauma call schedule covered by 7 providers
