Are you a Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN Physician seeking flexible 24-hour call coverage in Michigan? A prominent health system in central Michigan is seeking a dedicated OB/GYN for a 3-month contract starting ASAP. Offering targeted 24-hour in-house call blocks in Midland County with options to pick up additional shifts across affiliated regional hospitals in West Branch, Alma, and Alpena this position provides ideal scheduling flexibility and high-yield coverage opportunities.
The Opportunity Step into an established acute-care environment, providing comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological surgical coverage alongside experienced nursing and clinical support staff.
Clinical Scope: Deliver full-scope inpatient OB/GYN emergency and surgical care, including:
Inpatient labor and delivery coverage and reading nonstress tests (NSTs)
Executing emergency and routine surgical procedures including Cesarean sections, suction D&Cs, laparoscopies, and tubal ligations (circumcisions not required)
Documenting care via EPIC EMR and Dragon dictation
The Schedule & Shift Breakdown:
Midland Primary Call Dates (24-Hour In-House Call, 7:00 AM 7:00 AM): Sept 13, Sept 18, Sept 21, Sept 25, Oct 10, and Oct 17, 2026.
Optional Regional Call Coverage (Alma, Alpena, West Branch): Additional 24-hour call blocks available from September through December 2026 (including prime holiday block coverage over Christmas).
Work Environment: Inpatient hospital setting with 24-hour in-house call coverage.
Candidate Requirements Application must include an up-to-date CV in Month/Year format with no employment gaps, clean NPDB/OIG searches, and three professional references from the past 18 months.
Education & Training: MD degree from a California-approved medical school; ACGME-accredited residency training.
Board Status: Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in OB/GYN (BE candidates must be within 5 years of residency completion).
Licensure: Active Michigan State Medical License preferred; active IMLC Letter of Qualification considered.
Life Support: Active BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Case Logs & Experience: Minimum 1 year of post-grad experience and verified 12-month case logs demonstrating at least 50 deliveries and 25 gynecologic procedures.
