What You ll Do
- Provide expert pulmonary and critical care medical services during scheduled shifts
- Manage ICU patients in an open ICU environment with approximately 30 beds and high acuity levels
- Collaborate with hospital staff and specialty teams including vascular surgery, anesthesia, and general surgery
- Conduct patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and develop treatment plans
- Assist in line placements, intubations, and other procedures as first call for admitted patients during day hours
- Participate in hospital consultations, including about 18 daily pulm/crit consults
- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and maintain high-quality patient care standards
What You Need
- Valid medical license and DEA registration
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care or equivalent
- Strong clinical skills in managing high-acuity patients and performing procedures such as line placement and intubation
- Ability to work flexible weekend rotations and ensure availability on specified dates
- Clearance of background checks and required credentials for temporary privileges

This assignment takes place at a prominent hospital in Slidell, Louisiana, featuring a busy, capacity-managed facility with 162 beds, including dedicated ICU and step-down units. The environment is high-acuity with extensive support from hospitalist MDs and additional specialty coverage.
