Medical Assistant Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $860-$920
- Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (19104) - an on-site opportunity in a vibrant, well-connected area with a strong healthcare and academic community.
- Healthcare Setting: Outpatient women's health practice
- Work Arrangement: On-site
- Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week; office hours fall between 6:45 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
- Scheduling: Schedule will align with provider schedules and be provided approximately 3-4 weeks in advance
- Duration: 13-week temporary assignment with potential for permanent placement
- Attire: Maroon or burgundy scrubs
- Training: Orientation and electronic health record (EHR), scheduling, and privacy training provided as applicable
Clinical Medical Assistant Job Requirements
- Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required
- At least 18 months of Clinical Medical Assistant experience
- Women's health or outpatient clinic experience is preferred
- Strong patient service, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to perform both clinical support and front-desk functions in a fast-paced outpatient healthcare environment
- Comfort using electronic health records (EHR) and appointment scheduling systems; prior EHR experience is a plus
- Ability to complete required training, medical screening, and onboarding requirements before the start date
Medical Assistant Responsibilities
- Room patients and prepare them for outpatient appointments
- Support providers with routine clinical, administrative, and patient care workflows
- Assist patients with front-desk check-in and check-out
- Coordinate appointment-related communication and provide courteous, responsive patient service
- Process medication prior authorizations and assist with related documentation
- Maintain accurate patient information and support efficient scheduling procedures
- Complete required privacy and electronic health record training
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the women's health care team and patient experience
