We are seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for locum coverage within a regional Emergency Medicine network in Central Florida, beginning September 2026. Physicians will be cross-credentialed to provide coverage across multiple Emergency Departments within the regional model.

- Mix of hospital ED and freestanding Emergency Department coverage
- Epic EMR
- Providers are cross-credentialed across multiple locations
- ED volumes vary by location from approximately 10 000 annual visits
Primary Coverage Site
- 37-bed Emergency Department
- Approximately 51,000 annual ED visits
- hours of physician coverage daily
- 24 hours of APP coverage daily
- Epic EMR
Additional Regional Coverage
- 24-bed ED with approximately 20,000 annual visits
- 10-bed freestanding ED with approximately 10,000 annual visits
- Physician coverage available 24 hours/day at regional locations
- APP support available at select locations
- Full radiology, CT, ultrasound, and laboratory services available at freestanding locations
- Additional hospital location included in cross-credentialing model
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive Emergency Medicine care
- Evaluate and manage patients across varying acuity levels
- Perform all procedures required within the Emergency Department
- Stabilize and manage acute and emergent presentations
- Work collaboratively with APPs and Emergency Department clinical staff
- Rotate across regional Emergency Departments as scheduled
Requirements
- MD or DO
- Emergency Medicine residency training
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine required
- ABEM preferred
- Active, unrestricted Florida medical license required
- Active DEA with Florida address required
- ACLS required
- PALS required
- ATLS required when covering trauma-designated locations
- Must be comfortable performing all department-required procedures
Credentialing
- Case logs from the previous 2 years required
- CME documentation from the previous 2 years required
- Stroke CME requirement:
- 6 hours within the previous 2 years, or
- 9 hours within the previous 3 years
- Current flu, TB, and COVID compliance required
- Cross-credentialing required for regional coverage
Ideal Candidate
A Board Certified Emergency Medicine physician with an active Florida license and Florida-based DEA who is comfortable working within a regional coverage model and rotating between multiple Emergency Departments. Candidates should be comfortable managing the full scope of Emergency Medicine patients and performing all required ED procedures.
