- Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.; Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. followed by night call; 24-hour call coverage Saturday and Sunday
- Patient Care Focus: Inpatient oncology rounding and hematology/oncology consultations
- Procedures: None required
Hematology/Oncology Physician Job Requirements
- MD or DO degree
- Board certification in Hematology and Oncology required
- At least 1 year of experience in hematology/oncology practice
- Ability to provide inpatient rounding and respond to hematology/oncology consultations
- Ability to participate in weekday, nighttime, and weekend call coverage
- Active, unrestricted medical license and required credentials to practice in Maryland
Inpatient Hematology/Oncology Physician Responsibilities
- Round on hospitalized oncology patients during scheduled weekday hours
- Evaluate and manage inpatient hematology/oncology conditions
- Respond to inpatient consultations and provide timely clinical recommendations
- Provide night, weekend, and 24-hour call coverage according to the posted schedule
- Coordinate care with hospital-based clinicians and other members of the patient care team
- Document assessments, treatment plans, consultations, and follow-up recommendations accurately
