Position Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Anesthesiologist to join our esteemed hospital system in the Houma, LA area. As a key member of our anesthesia team, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical and interventional procedures. Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide anesthesia care to patients across a variety of surgical specialties, including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, gastroenterology, and more.
2. Supervise and coordinate the activities of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to ensure the delivery of high-quality anesthesia services and patient safety.
3. Perform preoperative assessments, develop anesthesia care plans, and administer anesthesia medications and techniques tailored to individual patient needs and surgical requirements.
4. Monitor patients throughout the perioperative period, including induction, maintenance, emergence, and post-anesthesia recovery, to optimize physiological stability and pain management.
5. Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other members of the surgical team to ensure seamless coordination of care and optimal patient outcomes.
6. Participate in preoperative discussions and interdisciplinary rounds to review patient status, discuss anesthetic considerations, and address any concerns or special considerations.
7. Provide consultation and expertise on pain management techniques, regional anesthesia, and sedation protocols as needed for procedural sedation and pain control.
8. Demonstrate proficiency in managing anesthesia-related emergencies, including airway management, cardiovascular instability, and adverse drug reactions, in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology.
• Active medical license in the state of Louisiana, with eligibility for hospital privileges.
• Completion of an accredited residency program in Anesthesiology.
• Experience supervising and working collaboratively with CRNAs in a team-based anesthesia care model.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic surgical environment.
• Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice in anesthesia care.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and provide coverage for emergent and urgent surgical cases as needed.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Competitive base salary of $400,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
• Additional bonus incentives for working the day after procedures for call coverage, providing additional earning potential.
• Sign-on bonus of $25,000 and relocation assistance of $10,000, both negotiable based on candidate's needs.
