CONTENT TUTOR DENTAL ASSISTING
General Description:
The Content Tutor: Dental Assistant cooperatively assist students with various healthcare subjects including but not limited to math, sciences, and writing (as feasible) through instruction and implementing study skills.
Duties and Tasks:
- Provide tutoring assistance to students as needed
- Assist ASC Manager in forming specialized study groups as need arises
- Assign software programs to assist students in various academic programs
- Distribute information leading to academic improvement
- Consult with faculty regarding centers resources
- Research current list of useful Internet resources for student and faculty use
- Work closely with Tutoring Services Coordinator, academic discipline faculty and staff, and Student Services faculty and staff to provide optimal services to students
- Provide tutoring services orientation for any willing faculty member
Required KSAs:
- Customer service skills
- Communication and written skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Analyzing skills
- Ability to assist undergraduate learners with course content
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse student population.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with one-on-one and group tutoring
- Experience as a Dental Assistant
Additional Considerations:
- Tutoring and/or teaching experience of dental assisting curricula
- Earned credential (certificate) in dental assisting or related health science field
- Certification as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA)
