What You ll Do
- Provide skilled nursing care for postpartum and medical-surgical patients
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
- Monitor fetal heart rates and respond to fetal in distress situations
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Document patient care accurately using CPSI/Perigen charting systems
- Occasionally take on charge nurse responsibilities
- Maintain patient safety and comfort in a rural critical access hospital setting
What You Need
Required: - Valid Kansas or Multistate RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications from the American Heart Association
- Previous CAH and postpartum experience
- Knowledge of CPSI/Perigen charting systems
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently
Preferred: - Prior travel nurse experience
- Ability to take on charge nurse duties when needed
- Flexible with shift and unit assignments
About the Assignment
This role is based in a small rural critical access hospital (CAH) in Quinter, Kansas, serving as a vital healthcare resource for the local community. The RN will work primarily in med-surg and postpartum units, providing compassionate, high-quality care in a supportive environment. The unit maintains a typical 1:1 patient ratio postpartum and a 1:3 ratio for medical-surgical care.
