Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Medicine Physician to join a dynamic healthcare team in Charleston, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality emergency medical care in a fast-paced clinical environment while collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries
- Provide emergency medical care for a wide range of conditions across all age groups
- Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill patients
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging studies, and laboratory results
- Collaborate with consulting physicians and hospital staff regarding patient care plans
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Participate in patient admissions, transfers, and discharge planning as appropriate
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain a patient-centered approach while working efficiently in a high-volume emergency department
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Active South Carolina medical license or ability to obtain licensure
- DEA certification required
- Current ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS certifications preferred
- Strong clinical decision-making and procedural skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Experience
- Previous Emergency Medicine experience
- Experience working in community hospitals or high-volume emergency departments is a plus
- Familiarity with EMR systems
