Clinical Responsibilities
Physicians will provide routine Emergency Medicine care, including:
- Evaluation and treatment of emergency department patients
- Management of acute and emergent conditions
- Resuscitation and codes
- Coordination of admissions and transfers
- General ED procedures and patient management
The department's disposition profile includes approximately 77% discharges and 14% admissions, with additional observation and transfer activity.

Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Completion of an ACGME/AOA-approved Emergency Medicine residency
- Actively practicing Emergency Medicine within the past 12 months, or completed EM residency within the past 6 months
- Active Iowa medical license or IMLC pathway
- Iowa DEA
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, and ATLS
- Clean malpractice/background history preferred
IMLC: Iowa participates in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact; eligible physicians may pursue Iowa licensure through the IMLC pathway.
