NURSE PRACTITIONER

POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports a trauma and acute care surgery service, focusing on surgical assisting, inpatient rounding, trauma activations, and limited follow up clinic coverage. The role works within a developing program and collaborates closely with a trauma trained surgeon to provide coordinated care for patients across the continuum of surgical and acute care services.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Prior experience functioning as a surgical first assist
• Experience caring for patients across all age groups
• Ability to work 12 hour shifts within a structured schedule
• Capacity to share both day and night coverage equitably
• Interest in contributing to a growing trauma and acute care surgery program
COMPETENCIES
• Skill in supporting operative procedures and perioperative workflows
• Ability to participate in trauma activations and acute evaluations
• Proficiency in conducting hospital rounds for surgical and trauma patients
• Effective collaboration with trauma and critical care surgical staff
• Strong clinical judgment in high acuity, fast paced environments
WORK SETTING & ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment: Hospital; Inpatient; Outpatient; Clinic/Private Practice
• Participation in trauma and acute care surgery services within the facility
• Involvement in operative care using modern surgical tools
• Hospital rounding on surgical and trauma patients in inpatient units
• Engagement in trauma activation responses in acute care areas
• Occasional follow up visits in a clinic setting for post hospital patients
