The role focuses on processing back-office information, verifying data integrity, and converting raw documents into organized electronic formats without needing to commute to an office. Key Responsibilities Data Input: Accurately type and upload alphanumeric information, customer details, or records from source documents (like invoices, PDFs, or forms) into company databases and spreadsheets. Verification & Quality Control: Review records for spelling, numbering, or formatting errors, and resolve duplicates or discrepancies. Record Management: Organize digital files, maintain secure backups, and track entry progress across multiple tasks. Communication: Coordinate with supervisors or team members via virtual tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, or email. Confidentiality: Protect sensitive corporate, financial, or patient health information (PHI) in compliance with privacy guidelines like HIPAA. Qualifications & Requirements Typing Speed & Accuracy: Typically a minimum typing speed of 40 to 60 words per minute (WPM) with a low error rate. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, and basic computer literacy. Education: A high school diploma or GED is standard; a college degree is rarely required for basic entry-level roles.
