Provide coverage in the emergency department Monday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM with no on-call hours requiredAssess and treat patients in the emergency department, perform triage, stabilization, and emergency procedures as requiredProvide rapid clinical decision-making in high-pressure situations within a fast-paced, high acuity emergency departmentWork collaboratively with nurses, specialists, and support staff to deliver high-quality careDocument patient interactions and treatment plans in the hospital's EMR systemWork in the main ER department with no dedicated fast track or express careCover Provider in Triage role when volume demandsSingle PA/NP coverage working alongside 1-2 board-certified Emergency Medicine Physicians in the departmentExpected patient encounters of 12-15 per shift plus handoffsAncillary services available to support the ED include Radiology, Laboratory, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Case Management, Physical Therapy, Mental Health, Trauma Surgery, Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Infectious Disease, OBGYN, and AnesthesiologyMust hold current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of MichiganState of Michigan controlled substance license and current DEA registration requiredAHA approved BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications requiredMust have experience as a PA/NP in an emergency department setting that includes both adults and children, as well as competence performing standard emergency department proceduresFacility:
This facility is a Level 2 trauma center located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, offering a comprehensive range of emergency and specialty services. The emergency department consists of 19 beds plus additional hall beds as needed, and is supported by a robust team of board-certified Emergency Medicine Physicians. The facility provides access to a wide range of ancillary services including radiology, laboratory, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and multiple specialty departments to support high-quality patient care.
