- Position: Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner (Locum Tenens)
- Location: Marquette, Michigan 49855
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $3,260-$3,870
- Duration: 4 days
- Schedule: December 23 orientation, followed by December 24, 25, 26, and 27 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
- Shift Duration: 12-hour emergency room shifts
- On-Call: No on-call hours
- Setting: Emergency Department / Emergency Room
- Orientation: Provided prior to start
- Credentialing Timeframe: Estimated 45-90 days
Job Requirements
- Satisfactory completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Michigan
- Michigan controlled substance license required
- Current DEA registration required
- AHA-approved BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications
- Emergency department PA/NP experience required
- Experience caring for both adults and children in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency department
- Comfort performing standard emergency medicine procedures
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in the emergency department
- Perform triage, stabilization, and emergency procedures as needed
- Provide rapid clinical decision-making in high-pressure situations
- Cover the Provider in Triage role when patient volume demands
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care
- Document patient encounters and treatment plans accurately in the EMR
- Manage an average of 12-15 patient encounters per shift, plus handoffs
- Support safe, efficient patient flow in a single-provider coverage environment
