Our dental office in Crescent City, CA is seeking a motivated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our team! As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing excellent preventive care to our patients while supporting the smooth operation of the practice.
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments, including reviewing medical histories, oral cancer screenings, and periodontal evaluations.
Provide preventive and therapeutic services, including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and fluoride and sealant applications.
Take, develop, and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, and post-procedure care to promote long-term oral health.
Develop and implement individualized dental hygiene treatment plans in collaboration with the dentist.
Maintain accurate and timely patient records and document all treatments in compliance with regulatory standards.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, including sterilization of instruments and disinfection of treatment rooms.
Collaborate with the dentist and dental team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
Assist with scheduling recall and follow-up visits as needed.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program.
Active California Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license.
CPR/BLS certification required.
Local anesthesia and nitrous oxide certification preferred.
Previous experience as a dental hygienist is preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and equipment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients and staff.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Ability to maintain a positive, patient-centered attitude at all times.
