Inpatient ICU & Step Down Units
St. Joseph s Health Hospital is seeking two (2) full time Advanced Practice Providers (NP or PA) to join their Cardiac Surgery ICU / Step Down Team. This opportunity is available due to an employee resignation and offers consistent weekday hours in a collaborative critical care environment.
Coverage Dates
️ Schedule
- Monday Friday
- Day/Evening shifts
- 40 hours minimum per week
- May increase to up to 50 hours/week based on service needs
- No OR coverage required
Practice Setting
- Inpatient ICU and step down unit coverage
- Adult patient population
- Average daily workload:
- Up to 10 notes per day
- Phone coverage for all inpatients
Scope & Responsibilities
- Non operative cardiac surgery ICU role
- Autonomous APP practice with strong physician support
- Supervising physicians and Critical Care physicians onsite
Procedures include:
- Central line placement
- Arterial line placement
- Chest tube placement
- Chest tube removal
- Wound vac changes
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Open to Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- ICU / Critical Care experience required
- Cardiac critical care experience preferred
- Inpatient medicine with cardiology focus highly desirable
- Comfortable working autonomously in an acute care setting
