Our client, a leading healthcare provider specializing in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, is hiring a Senior Physician Assistant (PA) Thoracic Surgery. This pivotal role offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced PA to provide clinical leadership, manage a dedicated team, and enhance patient care within a highly specialized thoracic surgery program. As Senior Physician Assistant, you will oversee the daily operations of the PA team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care across all clinical settings. You will collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop protocols, oversee clinical procedures, and contribute to departmental growth and innovation. A key component of this position involves managing staff recruitment, performance evaluations, and resource allocation, fostering a cohesive and high-functioning team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and supervision for Physician Assistants within Thoracic Surgery.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and clinical coverage to ensure seamless operations.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention efforts.
- Conduct performance reviews and facilitate ongoing education for staff.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and administrative leaders to optimize patient care.
- Support clinical oversight, including protocol development, procedure performance, and perioperative care.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement, research initiatives, and departmental projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
- Current NCCPA certification and active New York State Physician Assistant license (or eligibility).
- Minimum of 4-6 years of clinical experience, ideally in thoracic or surgical settings.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Strong leadership, clinical judgment, and excellent communication skills.
