Cardiology Physician

A leading academic cardiovascular program in Hartford, Connecticut is seeking a BC/BE Intensivist with a strong cardiac interest and experience or a Cardiologist with critical care experience and/or training to join its highly specialized Cardiac ICU team.

Position Highlights:

• Full-time Cardiology / Critical Care opportunity
• Join a collegial, highly trained Cardiac ICU team
• Care for patients with complex cardiovascular disease, including pre- and postoperative cases
• Manage patients with cardiogenic shock and acute mechanical circulatory support
• Exposure to ECMO, Impella and intra-aortic balloon pumps
• Care for heart transplant and ventricular assist device (VAD) patients
• Opportunities to participate in the ECMO program
• Leadership opportunities within the ECMO program for physicians with appropriate experience
• ECMO cannulation experience preferred but not required
• Educational opportunities with APPs, cardiology fellows, critical care fellows, residents and interns
• Perform chest tube placement, bronchoscopy and emergent intubations
• Work alongside highly trained advanced practitioners and critical care fellows
• Access to a robust academic cardiovascular program with advanced heart failure, cardiac surgery and transplant services

Qualifications:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology and/or Critical Care
• Critical care experience and/or training for cardiologists, or strong cardiac experience for intensivists
• Ability to perform chest tube placement, bronchoscopy and emergent intubation
