Cardiothoracic Surgery & ICU Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant opening in Hartford, CT Full-Time Cardiac Surgery ICU 3x13s No CallA nationally recognized cardiac surgery program in Hartford, Connecticut is seeking a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join its inpatient Cardiothoracic Surgery and ICU team.Opportunity Highlights:

  • Inpatient Cardiac Surgery APP role
  • Care for patients in an 18-bed Cardiac Surgery ICU, step-down unit, and floor settings
  • Manage preoperative and postoperative cardiac surgery patients
  • Provide care for advanced cardiac procedures, including heart transplants, ECMO, mechanical circulatory support, and TAVR
  • Perform bedside procedures, including central venous line placement, arterial line placement, intra-aortic balloon pump removal, and related procedures
  • Conduct patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and monitor clinical progress
  • Support transitions of care between ICU, step-down, and floor settings
  • Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Full-time schedule: 3 13-hour shifts
  • Nights/rotating schedule with weekend and holiday rotation; permanent night positions available
  • No call required

  • Candidate Requirements:
  • Certified Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Connecticut license or eligibility
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in cardiac surgery, critical care, or surgical settings preferred

  • Strong communication, teamwork, clinical judgment, and patient-care skills
