Position Responsibilities•Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform physical examinations. •Order and evaluate appropriate diagnostic tests. •Administer treatments and monitor patient conditions. •Prescribe medications as appropriate. •Assist Emergency Physicians with patient care and procedures. •Counsel and educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and follow-up care. •Respond effectively to emergency situations and assume a leadership role when necessary. •Maintain quality, safety, and infection-control standards. Requirements•Current New York State certification/registration as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. •5+ years of NP/PA experience preferred, but not required. •Current BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications. •Completion of annual NIHSS and stroke CME. •Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations and establish a leadership role when needed. •Knowledge of current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues, and approaches within the area of expertise. •Demonstrated ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection-control standards. •Knowledge of health promotion, health-risk identification, and patient education principles and techniques.
