Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Neurological (ICU Neuro) RN position is located in a specialized neuro ICU setting. This role involves caring for post-operative neuro patients, including those with arterial lines, external ventricular drains (EVDs), lumbar drains, and patients undergoing acute neuro interventions such as thrombectomies and administration of TPA. The position requires rotating 12-hour day/night shifts, including every other weekend, with potential floating to the neuro intensive care floor from the neuro intermediate care unit. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex neurological cases in a fast-paced critical care environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license at the time of submission; 3+ years of related work experience; experience with external ventricular drains (EVDs), lumbar drains, arterial lines; CPR from the American Heart Association; ACLS certification; NIH Stroke Scale certification; ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications; proficiency in Epic medical record system
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in neuro ICU or critical care units; familiarity with neuro-specific procedures and protocols; ability to work independently in a high-acuity environment
- Float: Float rotation may be required
- Additional Information: This role involves caring for patients with complex neuro conditions, including post-op neuro cases, acute thrombectomies, and vasoactive infusions. Weekly orientation sessions are held every Monday, barring holidays. Availability for interview should be provided at the time of submission. Candidates who have worked for the organization as perm or per diem in the last six months will not be considered unless separated for at least six months. No local travelers accepted (residing within 50 miles of the facility).
