Job Summary
The Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) profession is seeking qualified candidates at a healthcare facility located in a high-capacity, Level I trauma hospital. This role involves providing advanced cardiac surgery care, including complex procedures such as CABG, valve repairs, and transplants. The position demands expertise in scrubbing and circulating in the cardiac operating room environment, with responsibilities encompassing patient care during surgical procedures and being available for call coverage on a 24-7 basis.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid certification in cardiovascular operating room nursing, with a minimum of 2 years of CVOR OR experience, prior travel experience, and ability to scrub and circulate cardiac surgeries.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult cardiac procedures such as CABG, valve surgeries, ECMO, VAD, heart and lung transplants, and cardiac trauma cases.
- Additional Information: Orientation dates are scheduled starting 10/12/2026, with start dates on 10/26/2026, 11/02/2026, and 11/09/2026. This position includes call requirements (3 layers of call, 24-7 coverage, with requirements varying every 6 weeks), in addition to scheduled shifts. Candidates must be able to float between OR locations but not between different facilities. No excessive time off can be approved; limited time off is expected, and candidates should be willing to work during holidays as needed. Candidates are responsible for readiness to respond during any call shift, and all travelers must commit to the full duration of the assignment.
