REQUIRED PROCEDURES - Required:
- Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, with foreign body removal, with fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser), With injection of varices, Diagnostic, Therapeutic, With PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy
- Esophageal dilatation/manometry (Esophageal manometry interpretation)
- Small Bowel biopsy
- Lower GI endoscopy (Sigmoidoscopy (Flexible, Rigid), Colonoscopy (with biopsy, with excision of polyp
- Liver biopsy
- Insertion/management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube
- Preferred:
- ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography)
- Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)
JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Licensed in TX
• Board: Certified in Gastroenterology
• Certifications: ACLS
• Other Qualifications: Fellowship required
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide inpatient gastroenterology call coverage
• Manage ED consults and patient transfers
• Perform advanced GI procedures including endoscopy and ERCP
• Handle admissions related to GI cases
• Respond within required call response time
