Rural Physicians Group (RPG) is looking for a hospitalist to join our team at Willapa Harbor Hospital who is passionate about rural medicine, is looking to make a difference in medically underserved communities and wants to enjoy a flexible schedule with more autonomy.
We are on a mission to help rural hospitals meet the needs of the people they serve. Our expansive network of passionate, experienced hospitalists, surgicalists and APPs works full-time to solve the healthcare crisis in rural communities, partnering with hospitals to offer continuity of care and improved patient outcomes.
THE OPPORTUNITY
- 7 acute beds and up to 5 swing beds
- No ICU
- Average daily census: 7-8 max
- EMR: Epic
- Some subspecialty and ancillary support
- Some procedures required
- Lodging and office space designated for hospitalist team provided

SCHEDULE & ACCOMODATIONS
- Consistent placement with the ability plan your schedule months in advance
- In an effort to provide continuity of care and consistency with our small rural communities and hospitals, we require a minimum of 5-day stretch per month (you may work more!)
- Dedicated and convenient private and comfortable quarters/call-room
QUALIFICATIONS
- Board certified in family or internal medicine
- Active state licensure or ability to obtain
- Ability to perform full scope of practice
- Clean malpractice and disciplinary history
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Prior experience required
- Proficiency and willingness to perform some mainline procedures

About Willapa Harbor Hospital
Public Hospital District No. 1 of Pacific County was formed in 1946 and consisted of Willapa Harbor Hospital in South Bend and Ocean Beach Hospital in Ilwaco. Willapa Harbor Hospital s Alder St., location was built in 1954 to meet the needs of North Pacific County residents. In 1996, Pacific County Public Hospital District No. 2 was formed dba Willapa Harbor Hospital servicing the people of Northern Pacific County and surrounding areas. In 2000, the hospital entered into a major upgrade and expansion project, which included a new ER and a significant expansion of the laboratory and admissions area.
Over the last few years, we have upgraded much of our radiology equipment, including a new Cat Scan (CT) unit, 3D Mammography unit, and Ultrasound unit all in digital format. We now have state-of-the-art radiology and laboratory equipment to assist our physicians in diagnosing patient medical problems.
On July 1, 2013, the hospital purchased the Pacific Family Health Center from Dr. Michael Buben. In February 2019, the hospital purchased Willapa Family Medicine from Dr. Steven Hill. In November 2020, the two clinics were combined into one rural health clinic with a new name, Willapa Medical Clinic. Willapa Harbor Hospital has a 78-year history of being a community hospital owned and governed by local citizens.
