Urgent Care Locums Ongoing Coverage
WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking NP/PA providers with urgent care or emergency medicine experience for an ongoing locums opportunity in Pennsylvania. This is a great opportunity for providers who are comfortable treating patients of all ages and working independently in a busy urgent care setting.
Assignment Highlights
- 5 FTE providers needed
- Schedule: Monday Sunday, 8:00 AM 8:00 PM
- Approximately 20 shifts/month
- No call
- Provider will work independently/solo with no physician supervision
- Providers will rotate between multiple affiliated urgent care locations , all within approximately 30 miles of one another
- Drive-in candidates only candidates should live within a 2 3 hour driving radius
- Average patient volume: 3 4 patients per hour
- Sites typically staffed with 1 3 providers per day
- EMR: Epic
Clinical Responsibilities
Providers will manage a typical urgent care patient population, including:
- Cold and flu symptoms
- Rashes
- Abrasions and lacerations
- Sprains and minor orthopedic injuries
- Minor burns
- Wound care and I&Ds
- Splinting
- X-rays and EKGs
- Drawing blood and starting IVs
- Patients requiring a higher level of care will be referred to the local emergency department
Patient Population
- All ages
- Must be comfortable treating pediatric patients age 6 months and older
Requirements
- BC/BE
- Active Pennsylvania license
- PA DEA
- PA CSR
- ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Must have either:
- 2+ years of urgent care experience , or
- 1+ year of emergency medicine experience
- Must be comfortable working independently without supervision
- Must be comfortable performing orthopedic procedures, including splinting
- Strong wound care experience required
