WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a full-time Hematologist to join an established academic faculty practice in Brooklyn, NY. This opportunity has arisen due to the departure of a strong mid-career physician approximately one year ago and the ongoing need to reduce reliance on locum coverage. Responsibilities
- Full-time Hematology position with a primary focus on pure hematology.
- Conduct 3.0 3.5 days of outpatient clinic per week.
- Participate in the hematology consult service, focusing on pure hematology approximately one week per month.
- Engage in a Hem/Onc mix if applicable, with consult weeks rotating.
- Collaborate with a division that includes 10 faculty physicians, 2 locums, 1 full-time locums hematologist, and several part-time hematology physicians.
- Provide approximately 2.5 FTE dedicated hematology coverage.
- Work closely with 9 fellows who manage the majority of emergent calls; attendings are rarely contacted directly.
- Opportunity for faculty appointment and practice exclusively based at the medical center.
- Optional paid call opportunity at a nearby university: $360/night.
- Participate in the transition to EPIC EMR within the next year.
Requirements
- Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Hematology.
- Academic interest strongly preferred, including teaching, working with fellows, and engaging in clinical trials.
- Comfort managing a busy outpatient hematology practice.
- Interest in caring for diverse and underserved patient populations.
- Ability to collaborate within a large, team-oriented academic group.
- Oncology experience acceptable, but hematology is the core need.
