Position Overview
Community health organization in Muskegon Heights, Michigan is seeking a Board-Certified Family OR Internal Medicine Physician for an immediate locum to perm opportunity.
This is an outpatient primary care opportunity serving an underserved patient population with strong clinical and operational support.
Position Details
- Specialty: Family/Internal Medicine
- Setting: Outpatient Community Health / Primary Care
- Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- EMR: EPIC
- Volume Expectations:
- Template capacity: patients per day
- Typical provider volume: patients per day
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Initial 3-month locum assignment and permanent conversion
- Compensation: Salary dependent on experience
Clinical Scope
Provider must be comfortable treating patients across the lifespan, including:
- Pediatrics (preferably comfortable seeing all ages but there's flexibility)
- Adult and Geriatric patients
- Chronic and acute care management
Minor in-house procedures include:
- Toenail removals
- IUD procedures
- Mole removals
- Basic office procedures
- If Provider is uncomfortable with any of the above that is not a deal breaker
Practice Environment
- 3 Physicians currently on staff, including the CMO
- Multiple APP's currently on-site, physician will be asked to provide oversight to APPs
- Preferred oversight ratio: 4 APPs to 1 physician
- Will consider oversight of 2 APPs
- Dedicated Medical Assistant/RN for each provider
- RN Case Managers and Clinic RNs
- Medical Phone Assistants handling labs and prior authorizations
- In-house pharmacy services
- Clinical Pharmacist available for provider consults
- Dedicated referrals/scheduling department
- Transportation assistance available for patients
- On-site security
Provider Flexibility & Support
- Providers may choose:
- Daily or weekly admin/charting time
- Whether to take a lunch break
- Preferred patient template structure/workflow
Credentialing Requirements
- Credentialing Timeframe:
- Emergency privileges/immediate processing available
- Full credentialing estimated within 1 3 months
- Must be:
- Board Certified
- Clean license and DEA history preferred
- Minor malpractice claims may be considered
- Restrictions on license or DEA will not be accepted if current/recent
