Job Summary
Step Down Unit RN in a healthcare facility located in West Virginia. This position involves providing specialized nursing care on step-down and floor units, with a focus on MedSurg, Cardiac, IDDM, COPD, Trauma, Ortho, ENT, and Urology patient populations. The role requires working 12-hour day shifts, including weekends, holidays, and call as scheduled, supporting patient recovery and ensuring clinical excellence.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, three days per week totaling a minimum of 36 hours weekly, with weekend, holiday, and call responsibilities as scheduled.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, and willingness to wait for license submission.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with titrifing drips on step-down and floor units, ability to interpret telemetry strips, and familiarity with electronic charting systems.
- Additional Information: The role demands proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips, managing titratable IV drips including Heparin, and working with RT equipment like Cpap and BiPAP. Staffed with charge nurses and house supervisors available 24/7. In-house RT staff and telemetry techs are present; vents are not available on this unit.
