UW Medicine Montlake has outstanding opportunities for Full-Time & Part-Time VARIOUS SHIFTS Medical Assistants. The successful candidates are responsible for promoting efficient patient flow and assisting the provider with patient care, procedures, tests and record keeping.
Medical Assistant Opportunities at the following locations:
- UWMC Heart Institute
- Stadium Clinic (Full-time, Days)
- UWMC Digestive Health (Full-Time, Days)
- Montlake Emergency Department (90% Nights & 60% Midshift)
- UWMC Rehab Medicine (Full-Time Days)
- UWMC Neurology Clinic (Full-Time Days)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
- Perform injections
- Prepare and clean exam rooms
- Submit medication prior authorizations
- Recognizes symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately reports to provider
- Acts as a liaison between patient, patient's family and providers
- Assists provider with procedures and medical exams
- Performs point of care testing and reports abnormal laboratory values
- Assists in transporting patients as required
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board
- Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment
- Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card
