Tele-Pediatric Pulmonologist
Part-Time Flexible Schedule Work from Anywhere Rural Texas
Position Overview
The Rural Health Hub (RHH) is seeking a Tele-Pediatric Pulmonologist to provide high-quality respiratory care to children and adolescents in rural and medically underserved Texas communities.
This flexible, part-time role allows the pediatric pulmonologist to work remotely while trained clinical staff are physically present with the patient. The physician will evaluate and manage a broad range of pediatric pulmonary conditions, provide longitudinal specialty care, and collaborate with families, local primary care providers, hospitals, respiratory therapists, allergists, sleep specialists, and other clinicians.
The Rural Health Hub Model
RHH uses a hybrid-telehealth model that combines remote specialty expertise with in-person clinical support.
Local medical assistants, nurses, respiratory therapists, or advanced practice providers assist with:
History, medications, vital signs, oxygen saturation, and symptom assessment
Respiratory examination components
Connected digital stethoscope and examination technology when appropriate
Pulmonary function testing when available
Coordination of chest imaging, laboratory testing, and other diagnostic studies
Inhaler and spacer technique assessment
Oxygen and respiratory equipment review
Medication reconciliation and adherence support
Referrals, follow-up care, and communication with the local care team
This model allows pediatric pulmonologists to provide meaningful ongoing specialty care while using local and regional resources for pulmonary testing, imaging, sleep studies, procedures, hospitalization, and higher levels of care when needed.
