Locum Psychiatrist Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist (C&A) Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Locum Psychiatrist specializing in Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist (C&A) to provide psychiatric services within a behavioral health setting in New York . The ideal candidate will have experience evaluating, diagnosing, and treating children and adolescents with a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
This is a long-term locum opportunity offering a consistent weekday schedule.
Position Details

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments for pediatric and adolescent patients.
- Diagnose and treat a variety of mental health, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide medication evaluation, management, and monitoring as appropriate.
- Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, nurses, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in treatment planning and multidisciplinary case discussions.
- Provide consultation and clinical guidance to members of the healthcare team.
- Ensure high standards of patient care, safety, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program.
- Specialized training, experience, or demonstrated competency in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry .
- Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in New York, or eligibility to obtain appropriate licensure.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry; Child and Adolescent Psychiatry certification preferred.
- Current DEA registration, if required for the assignment.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
