A hospital-based imaging department located in Northern Illinois, approximately one hour south of Chicago, is seeking an experienced CT Technologist to join its radiology team.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a skilled CT professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment. The ideal candidate will have strong CT experience and be committed to providing high-quality diagnostic imaging and excellent patient care.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform CT examinations according to established imaging protocols.
- Prepare patients for CT procedures and explain examinations clearly.
- Verify patient identification, clinical history, and examination orders.
- Position patients appropriately for CT examinations.
- Operate CT equipment safely and effectively.
- Select appropriate CT protocols based on the examination ordered.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by radiologists.
- Administer contrast media according to established protocols and applicable requirements.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after CT procedures.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to contrast reactions and patient emergencies.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and repeat examinations when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate patient and imaging documentation.
- Perform quality-control procedures and assist with equipment troubleshooting.
- Follow radiation safety and ALARA principles.
- Maintain compliance with departmental, regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
- Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide compassionate and professional patient care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional CT and radiologic responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Prior CT Technologist experience required.
- ARRT certification/registry required.
- Appropriate Illinois radiologic licensure required.
- BLS certification required.
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field required.
- Demonstrated ability to independently perform CT examinations.
- Strong knowledge of CT protocols, positioning, radiation safety, and image quality.
- Experience in a hospital-based imaging environment preferred.
- Strong patient-care and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Strong critical-thinking and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Ability to work day and/or night shifts based on departmental needs.
- Commitment to patient safety, quality imaging, and regulatory compliance.
