Coverage Requirements:

- Participate in committees and hospital-wide quality initiatives

Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Hospital Capacity:
- 205 licensed acute care beds
- 52 medical-surgical beds
- 12 PCU beds
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive hospitalist care during overnight hours
- Manage patients in the open ICU
- Provide care for PCU patients
- Respond to acute clinical changes
- Participate in the hospital code team
- Coordinate care with daytime intensivists
- Utilize nighttime intensivist consultation support when needed
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff across hospital departments
- Participate in hospital committees
- Contribute to hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives
- Support efforts to reduce hospital-acquired infections (HAIs)

Physician nocturnists provide overnight coverage with intensivist consultation support available as needed.
