Hematology/Oncology Physician Locum Tenens

Contract Length: 39 weeks
Schedule: Monday Thursday or Monday Friday
Shift: 7:00 AM 5:00 PM (10-hour shifts)
Position Overview We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology Physician for a 39-week locum tenens opportunity in North Carolina. This position is primarily focused on benign hematology, with approximately % hematology and some month-to-month variation. The physician will work in an ambulatory Hematology/Oncology clinic seeing both new and follow-up patients. This is a well-supported practice with multiple clinical and administrative resources available.
Key Responsibilities- See a minimum of 15 patients per day
- Manage primarily hematology patients
- Evaluate new and follow-up patients
- Focus on benign hematology
- Write orders and prescriptions
- Communicate with pharmacy staff
- Be comfortable working in a general Hematology/Oncology setting
- Provide broad, bread-and-butter Hematology/Oncology care
Clinical SupportYou will not be working entirely solo. The care team includes:
- Nurses
- Nurse Navigator
- Administrative support
- Pharmacy
- 1 2 physicians
- Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
- Infusion Specialist
Requirements- Updated CV in MM/YYYY format (NO Gaps above 30 days)
- NPDB Self query - (current month copy)
- Board Certification in Hematology and/or Oncology
- Dual board certification preferred
- Oncology board certification required if seeing oncology patients
- Active North Carolina medical license
- DEA
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 3 years of clinical experience
- Clean credentialing file
- EPIC experience preferred; an EPIC assessment will be required prior to the start date
