PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
  • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine (ABEM, AOBEM, ABMS) or Family Medicine/Internal Medicine (ABMS)
  • Licenses: Active unrestricted VA Medical License and DEA with VA address & schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4 & 5
  • DEA / CDS: Active DEA with VA address required
  • Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (if not BC in EM), NRP (for non-ABEM providers)
  • Experience: EM residency trained; new graduates within 12 months considered with 3-month proctorship
  • Other Qualifications: Graduate from accredited 4-year medical school (MD/DO); ECFMG required for foreign medical graduates; Case Logs for last 2 years; CME/CEU with Preeclampsia for initial application
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients in the ED
  • Manage 16,000 annual patient volume with 12-hour shifts
  • Supervise and collaborate with mid-level providers (9-hour coverage)
  • Perform emergency procedures as required
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR
