Opportunity:
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
Job Details:
- 13-week contract with options to extend
- Schedule consists of (4) 10-hour shifts per week or (3) 12-13 hour shifts per week
- Weekly availability required; preference is not to rotate weeks on/weeks off
- Weekend availability preferred, including Saturdays and Sundays when possible
- Must be able to work holiday weeks; Christmas Day and New Year's Day off, but may be scheduled on Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve
- All time off requests must be submitted upfront and approved prior to acceptance
- No call required
- Practice setting includes inpatient and outpatient locations, including main OR, outpatient surgery center, and endoscopy center
- Level 1 trauma center with 33 ORs in the main OR, 16 offsite anesthesia locations, 12 outpatient surgery ORs, and 3-4 standalone GI center rooms
- Patient population ranges from adolescents (age 13) through end of life
- All CRNA scopes of practice required; cases will not include open heart/thoracic, pediatrics, obstetrics, or performing peripheral nerve blocks
- EMR system: Epic (preferred experience)
- Hospital bed size: 600 beds
- Minimum 2 years of experience required; academic background and Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience preferred
- One year of academic medical center or Level 1 trauma center experience required; preference for candidates with regular experience treating ASA 3+ patients
- Outpatient-only candidates will be considered but recent inpatient experience is preferred
- Board certification required
- Virginia state license required
- ACLS and BLS certifications must be valid and completed through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; no local candidates
- 2 professional references or reference contact information must be provided with submittal
Facility:
This is a large academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center with 600 beds serving a broad patient population. The facility supports an extensive anesthesia program comprising 60 CRNAs, approximately 70 attending anesthesiologists, and 60 anesthesia residents. The department covers a wide range of practice settings including a main operating room suite, multiple offsite anesthesia locations, an outpatient surgery center, and a GI center, providing clinicians with diverse and dynamic case exposure in a highly collaborative and well-resourced academic environment.
