Job description

Machine Operator/Forklift Driver

The Machine Operator/Forklift Driver position supports the production of high-quality roofing shingles in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Production Shift Supervisor, this role helps maintain safe operations, perform quality inspections, support equipment reliability, and ensure continuous production flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Perform quality inspections and remove off-specification product.
  • Monitor shingle measurements, appearance, and material application.
  • Support production operations by clearing jams, handling materials, and maintaining equipment.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance, cleaning, and TPM activities.
  • Handle, stack, wrap, store, and move finished products safely.
  • Complete required production documentation and quality checks.
  • Support team members across the production line and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Forklift experience is a plus, but not a requirement.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during 8 to 16-hour shifts.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, climbing, and repetitive movement.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move materials up to 40 pounds and heavier loads with assistance.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, industrial noise, and manufacturing environments.
