Job Description Job Description Job Title: MIG WelderJob Description This role focuses on MIG welding mid-grade and heavy steel and aluminum components for industrial radiators used in warehouses, production facilities, and data centers. You interpret welding blueprints and job orders, set up and perform high-quality welds, and ensure all work meets established ISO and quality standards. The position requires a strong attention to detail, consistent workmanship, and the ability to work safely in a busy metal fabrication environment.
Responsibilities
Work Environment The role is based in a welding and metal fabrication/assembly shop focused on building industrial radiators for warehouses, production facilities, and data centers. The standard schedule is 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with a shift premium available for 2nd shift. The facility is clean and organized but not temperature controlled, so it can become hot during the summer. You will work closely with other employees in the fabrication department, including welders, brake press and punch press operators, turret operators, and laser operators, as part of a collaborative production team. The work environment includes exposure to hot objects, welding glare, sparks, flying metal chips and scale, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and moving mechanical equipment. Company-supplied personal protective equipment is required, including flame-resistant overclothing, safety mask and shield, safety glasses, safety shoes, and ear protection as necessary.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasant Prairie, WI.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.

Responsibilities
- Review written and verbal job orders and interpret welding specifications in accordance with applicable codes, alignment requirements, dimensional tolerances, and inspection standards.
- Read and understand welding blueprints and prints to determine weld locations, dimensions, and required techniques.
- Set up jobs by fitting and positioning weldments using fixtures, jigs, and other tooling to ensure proper alignment and fit-up.
- Perform MIG welding on mid-grade and heavy steel and aluminum components within established procedures and recognized limits.
- Carry out related tasks such as surface preparation, thermal cutting, grinding, and finishing to prepare materials and complete assemblies.
- Inspect welds and welded surfaces for proper bonds, quality, and conformance to specifications, making adjustments as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area on a daily basis, including welding stations, tools, and equipment.
- Clean, maintain, and perform basic checks on welding equipment and tools to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Work safely at all times, following company safety policies and using required personal protective equipment.
- Ensure all work adheres to ISO and internal quality standards and contributes to continuous improvement in welding and fabrication processes.
- Collaborate with other team members in the fabrication department, including welders, brake press and punch press operators, turret operators, and laser operators, to meet production goals.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned to support fabrication and assembly operations.
- Minimum of 1 year of MIG welding experience, with candidates having between 1 and 6 years of MIG welding experience strongly preferred.
- Experience welding mid-grade or heavy steel and aluminum using MIG processes.
- Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints and prints, with at least 1 year of blueprint reading experience required and 3 years preferred.
- Capability to pass a weld test demonstrating quality, consistency, and proper technique.
- Proficiency in inspecting welds and welded surfaces for proper bonds and adherence to specifications.
- Ability to set up weldments using fixtures, jigs, and other positioning tools.
- Understanding of basic quality inspection practices related to welding and fabrication.
- Commitment to working safely and following established safety procedures in a welding and metal fabrication environment.
- Experience reviewing job orders and welding specifications according to code certifications and inspection requirements.
- Familiarity with thermal cutting, grinding, and surface preparation in support of welding and fabrication work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced fabrication shop and coordinate with multiple production disciplines.
- Attention to detail and strong focus on weld quality, accuracy, and consistency.
- Willingness to work in environments with heat, sparks, fumes, and moving mechanical equipment while using appropriate protective equipment.
- Adaptability to changing production priorities, including increased focus on radiators for data centers.
- Positive attitude and reliability, as compensation progression is influenced by weld quality, experience, and attitude.
