MalaceHR is seeking an experiencedSupermarket Refrigeration Technicianto support grocery and retail food clients with the service, repair, and maintenance of commercial refrigeration systems. This role focuses onrack systems, display cases, walk-in coolers/freezers, and related mechanical and electrical componentsto ensure equipment reliability, food safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, and overhaulsupermarket refrigeration systems, includingrack systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and controls

  • Service and maintaindisplay cases, walk-in coolers/freezers, ice machines, and refrigeration equipment

  • Perform preventive maintenance to identify mechanical or operational deficiencies before system failure

  • Test malfunctioning systems using electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills

  • Complete service calls efficiently while exceeding customer expectations

  • Perform general HVAC and refrigeration repairs including air conditioning units, gas furnaces, motors, and pumps as needed

  • Accurately complete work orders, service tickets, and maintenance documentation

  • Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle

  • Participate in an emergency on-call rotation

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Trade school or vocational certification preferred
  • Strong experience insupermarkets or convenience store refrigerationpreferred
  • Working knowledge ofrack systems, single systems, display cases, and walk-in boxes
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and stand or sit for extended periods
  • Willingness to participate in emergency on-call coverage
